Why I Specialize in Auto Accident & Sports Injuries
The Personal Story That Reshaped My Practice
Years ago, someone close to me was involved in a car accident. At the time, I had no reason to question the care they were receiving. I assumed their doctors were finding and treating all of their injuries.
But as time passed, it became clear that something had been missed. Their pain persisted, their function declined, and their quality of life was permanently altered. It was a powerful reminder that even seemingly minor injuries can have long-term consequences if not properly identified and treated.
This experience fundamentally changed how I approach patient care. It drove me to pursue advanced credentials, including a Fellowship in Primary Spine Care, (Certified in Joint Providership from the State University of New York at Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine, Office of Continuing Medical Education and Cleveland University Kansas City, College of Chiropractic) so that I could identify the injuries that too often go overlooked.
It’s why I pay close attention to every MRI, every clinical exam, and every patient’s story. When you’ve been in an auto accident, sports injury, or just woke up stiff and sore one morning, the full extent of your injuries needs to be clearly documented and properly treated—not just the obvious ones.
This is the foundation of how we approach care at Eatontown Elite Care Center.
Advanced Training That Makes a Difference
Dr. Kovacs’ commitment to advanced postdoctoral education sets him apart from traditional chiropractic care. His specialized training allows him to diagnose and manage complex spinal conditions that require collaboration with medical specialists and advanced imaging interpretation.
Fellowship in Primary Spine Care (FPSC)
In 2023, Dr. Kovacs earned a Fellowship in Primary Spine Care, completing a rigorous 2-year program certified through the State University of New York at Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Department of Continuing Medical Education in joint providership with Cleveland University-Kansas City, College of Chiropractic.
This is the first joint providership program between Medical and Chiropractic academia, representing the highest level of collaborative training available.
Primary Spine Care providers are trained in:
• Diagnosing and managing all spinal-related conditions with focus on mechanical spine pain
• Basic and advanced imaging interpretation (MRI, CT, X-ray)
• Electrodiagnostic interpretation (EMG/NCV studies)
• Vascular diagnosis related to stroke and neurological conditions
• Central motor and sensory lesion diagnosis
• Co-morbidity analysis related to musculoskeletal conditions
• Collaborative management of fractures, tumors, and infections with medical specialists
This advanced training is particularly valuable for patients recovering from auto accidents, where hidden injuries may not be apparent during initial evaluation.

Advanced MRI Interpretation Certification
Dr. Kovacs is credentialed through both medical and chiropractic academia in MRI interpretation—a specialized skill that allows him to identify spinal injuries that may be missed during routine evaluations.
This expertise enables Dr. Kovacs to:
• Identify disc herniations, nerve compression, and soft tissue injuries on MRI studies
• Provide detailed documentation for auto accident and personal injury cases
• Coordinate care with orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, and pain management specialists when surgical intervention may be needed
• Understand the full scope of traumatic injuries beyond the initial clinical presentation
• Recognize red flags that require immediate medical referral
For patients who have been in car accidents or suffered sports injuries, this level of diagnostic expertise ensures that nothing is overlooked. Dr. Kovacs reviews every MRI personally and correlates imaging findings with clinical examination to develop comprehensive treatment plans.

Spinal Biomechanical Engineering Expertise
Dr. Kovacs has completed extensive postdoctoral training in spinal biomechanical engineering, which provides him with an in-depth understanding of how forces impact the spine during traumatic events.
This specialized knowledge is critical when evaluating auto accident injuries, as it allows Dr. Kovacs to:
• Analyze accident mechanics and predict injury patterns
• Understand delayed-onset injuries that may not appear immediately after a collision
• Develop rehabilitation protocols based on biomechanical principles
• Provide expert testimony when legal documentation is required
Combined with his physical therapy services, this biomechanical expertise allows for comprehensive rehabilitation that addresses both immediate pain relief and long-term functional restoration.
Continuing My Father’s Legacy in Chiropractic Care
Dr. Jordan Kovacs is a Monmouth County (Wall Township) native and second-generation chiropractor. His father, Dr. Louis A. Kovacs, began practicing chiropractic in the Lacey/Forked River area in 1975. Unfortunately, his father was forced to give up his practice due to terminal illness in 1987. By pursuing chiropractic, Dr. Jordan is able to continue the work and passion of his father.
Dr. Kovacs attended Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, NJ. He then went on to earn his Bachelors from the University of Vermont, and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Life University College of Chiropractic, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
This deep family connection to chiropractic care, combined with his personal experience watching someone close to him suffer from missed injuries, has shaped Dr. Kovacs’ patient-centered philosophy: every patient deserves thorough evaluation, accurate diagnosis, and comprehensive treatment—no exceptions.
